Pet Neutering

Pet Neutering at Benfleet Veterinary Surgery

Neutering is a medical procedure that prevents pets from being able to reproduce. It is sometimes referred to as castration in males and spaying in females.

Neutering your pet brings a host of health benefits and is the only way to prevent unwanted pregnancies.

At what age should my pet be neutered?

Female dogs can be spayed from around six months old, while male dogs can be neutered from six to seven months old. Cats can be neutered from around four months old and it is also completely safe to neuter older cats.
